Doculab: Laboratorio de documentales
DocuLab: Documentary Laboratory is a program of the Industry section of Guadalajara International Film Festival that looks to encourage the development of filmmakers and their documentary films at editing stage, through a thorough analysis and discussion with experts in the genre.
Towards its 14th edition, DocuLab returns as an On-Site event, carrying on with its mission as an important formative space for the non-fiction genre in Ibero-America.

DocuLab opens its call for entries to directors from any of the nineteen countries of the Ibero-American region, (list of countries in Requirements and Documentation) with a documentary film at the editing stage and wish to show them to specialists of the genre and industry representatives, with the intention of receiving feedback, advice and the option of possible co-productions or funds for its finalization, commercialization and distribution. There is no age restriction to apply in DocuLab.

To apply to DocuLab it is necessary to fill in the submission form, which can be found at the FICG Industry webpage.
The submissions are online.
To participate in DocuLab it is essential to speak Spanish and it is recommended to have fluent English, as some of the conferences and activities will be held in this language.

The election of the participants will be made by the Selection Committee, formed by a group of specialists from the genre. The names of the members will be announced once the results are published.
The committee will evaluate the quality, creativity and narrative proposal of the submitted films. DocuLab has a limited space for selection, so if your film is not selected, it doesn't mean it lacks quality.
